The New Carnival from Kia makes its debut.

The all-new Kia Carnival is one of the latest vehicles to occupy the multi-purpose-vehicle (MPV) category. It is designed and built by arguably one of the most successful brands in recent history and actually straddles the minivan and MPV categories. The replacement for the outgoing Kia Sedona, the new Carnival is positioned to take over and expand the already long reach of its predecessor. In other words, it pushes the envelope for the brand.

What moves the new Kia Carnival?

Power for the new Carnival comes from the Kia 3.5-liter GDI V6 engine mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Naturally-aspirated, it is a gasoline-fed direct-injected V6 engine. It produces a best-in-class 290 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 262 lb-ft of torque at 5,000 rpm. The Carnival has a max-towing capability of up to 3,500 pounds.

The new Kia Carnival features a shape that is part SUV and part Minivan. There's no denying this, but the truth is it gets the best of both segments from its new design. Strong and boxy like its big brother, the Kia Telluride, the new Kia Carnival delivers a confident shape and manages to directly connect with the design language used throughout the Kia product portfolio.

Through the inclusion of a modernized Kia Tiger Nose grille, the Carnival now features a wide stance and presence that also utilizes a high-tech LED lighting system. A new bold cutline connects the front to the rear, where it ties the vehicle together. The Carnival exudes brawn while at the same time imparting a sleek premium look, thanks to 17- and 19-inch alloy wheels.

Available ventilated and heated VIP lounge seating with power controls and leg extensions give an executive feeling to a family hauler. Removable seating from the second row and fold-in-floor third-row seats allow for up to 145-cubic feet of cargo area behind the front row seats.

The Kia Passenger Talk intercom system is here too. It's one of our favorite features, allowing you to carry on conversations with people in the second and third-row through an intercom system. Just think how the phrase "Don't make me stop this car" sounds through that!

Sophisticated and refined, the new Kia Carnival interior looks corporate jet-like inside. Slide-Flex seating for up to 8-passengers allows multi-configurable layouts, including a sliding middle-row seat which allows the front passenger easy access to a person sitting in the second row.
