Understanding the benefits of each Sportage trim will help you find the best SUV for your budget. The Sportage's price increases for each trim level, but they come with better technology, special design features, and driving capabilities.

Kia Sportage LX Trim

The Sportage LX comes with a 2.5-liter, 4-cylinder engine that provides 187 horsepower and 178 lb.-ft. of torque. It comes standard with 17-inch alloy wheels. Inside, you'll find a 12.2-inch instrument display and an 8-inch touchscreen display that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the seats are made with comfortable woven cloth.

Kia Sportage EX vs. LX

The Sportage EX comes with many desired features and a minimal price difference compared to the LX. The rims are upgraded to 18-inch alloy wheels. It has a 12.3-inch touchscreen display with navigation, a wireless phone charger, a smart key with push-button start, and remote start functionality. The LX interior also adds SynTex seat trim with heated front seats, a power driver's seat with power lumbar adjustment, and dual-zone auto climate control.

Kia Sportage X Line AWD

The X-line AWD is made for people who prefer a rugged look and performance. It includes an active all-wheel drive, providing better traction and control. The X-Line Body Styling adds sportiness to the vehicle's exterior and provides high-utility roof rails and 19-inch alloy wheels as well. Inside, the X-Line SynTex Seat Trim with Heated Front Seats offers both comfort and durability. The Sportage SX trim provides many premium SUV options. The Sportage SX Prestige offers drivers luxury SUV options at a reasonable price. These include 19-inch alloy wheels with a gloss black finish, a blind-spot view monitor, a surround view monitor, ventilated front seats, a power front passenger seat, and a heated steering wheel.

Kia Sportage X-Pro

The Sportage X-Pro is essentially a step up from the X Line AWD, with some of the benefits of the SX Prestige. The active all-wheel drive creates better control and is combined with 17-inch matte black alloy wheels with BFGoodrich all-terrain tires for improved off-road performance. The X-Pro also has several premium additions, such as the 12.3-inch dual panoramic displays with navigation, a panoramic sunroof with a power sunshade, a smart power tailgate, and a Harman Kardon premium audio system. Seating Options

Depending on what seat material and options you prefer, it's a good idea to understand what comes standard on each Sportage trim. The Kia Sportage LX comes standard with woven cloth seating, a 6-way manual driver's seat, and no heated seats. Upgrading to the EX adds several features, like a 10-way power driver's seat, heated seats, and SynTex Seat Trim, which is a type of vegan leather. The X-Line AWD and SX provide the same benefits with special seat stitching for the X-Line. Once you get to SX Prestige, you upgrade to an 8-Way Power Front Passenger Seat, ventilated seating, and Premium SynTex Seat Trim.

Kia Sportage Design Review: Kia's Signature Midsize SUV

Anyone looking for a bold, stylish midsize SUV will be thrilled with the Sportage's "Opposites United" design. You're greeted with Kia's signature Tiger Nose Grill, which spans the entire width of the front end. The boomerang-shaped daytime running lights and uniquely shaped headlights draw the eye with their dramatic angles, while the angular fenders give the Sportage a strong presence. The Sportage does a great job of balancing a rugged design while still appearing refined and smooth. In other words, if you want a uniquely designed SUV without getting too obscure, the Sportage is the perfect SUV for you. Color Options

The Sportage has 11 color options for the LX model through the SX Prestige. They are: Everlasting Silver, Ebony Black, Steel Gray, Snow White Pearl, Glacial White Pearl, Wolf Gray, Sapphire Blue, Dawning Red, Jungle Green, Gravity Gray and Fusion Black.

Exclusive to the X Pro and X-Pro Prestige is the option to add a dual tone with a black roof. The options are: Glacial White Pearl with Ebony Black Roof; Wolf Gray with Ebony Black Roof; and Jungle Green with Ebony Black Roof.

Wheels

The Sportage comes standard with 17-inch alloy wheels for the LX base model. The EX and SX upgrade to 18-inch alloy wheels, while the X-Line AWD upgrades you all the way to exclusive 19-inch alloy wheels with a gloss black finish.
