The new Kia Telluride isn't just named after a city in Colorado, it's as big as the state, too. We kid, of course, but the fact is, the new Telluride is the latest, and the largest Kia in the fleet. Drawn at the Kia Design Studios in California, and built at the company plant in West Point, Georgia, this fully capable full-size SUV is attracting attention everywhere it goes.

Such a vehicle needs potent motivation under the hood. The Telluride won't disappoint. Powered by a Kia LAMBDA II 3.8-liter V6 gas direct-injection engine, it manages to produce 291-horsepower and 262 lb-ft of pulling power. In addition to its normal payload, the Telluride can tow up to 5,000 pounds. The engine is coupled to an 8-speed automatic transmission for smooth, accurate shifting, and a four-wheel independent suspension for a smooth ride, whether on- or off-road. For those with varying ride loads, an available self-leveling rear suspension will adjust ride height automatically to optimize control and stability.

The Kia Telluride is equally capable, both on and off the road. With Optional on-demand all-wheel-drive, the Telluride utilizes a system that redistributes the amount of power to the front and rear wheels. In a normal situation, using Eco and Smart modes, the system will send 100-percent of the power to the front wheels. Comfort and Snow modes will send up to 80-percent front and 20-percent to the rear. Sport mode splits the power 65:35 front to rear, while locking mode delivers power evenly to all four wheels. Finally, Kia's Downhill Brake Control will help the driver maintain a steady speed while driving downhill, without touching the brakes.

The exterior of the Kia Telluride conveys a sense of presence that is impossible to ignore. From its long broad hood with wide grille and headlamps, to its upright windshield layout to its impressive sidelines, this Telluride gives off an air of luxury without trying.

Turning inward, the Telluride's interior features available double-stitched Nappa leather, simulated brushed metal and matte finished wood. Heated and ventilated front seats join reclining third-row seats, and finish the total effect with tuneage from an optional 630-watt Harman Kardon 10-speaker audio system with Clari-Fi technology that restores digital music.

But that's not all. The Kia Telluride is a full-featured tour de force that includes an array of some of the most desirable safety technologies available today. They include Blind Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist Rear (BCA-R), Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist (RCCA), Lane Following Assist (LFA), Safe Exit Assist (SEA), Highway Driving Assist (HDA), Head-Up Display (HUD), Driver Talk, Quiet Mode and Rear Occupant Alert.

The new Kia Telluride is one of the most exciting offerings from Kia, and one that will have people turning heads from blocks away. Contact your Kia of Carmel sales professional in Carmel, Indiana, today, to arrange for a test drive.
